Stage 1: Rely on basic power modes

In 80 AD, gladiators and wild animals rode primitive elevators to the height of the amphitheater in the Roman Colosseum. Medieval records include numerous figures pulling lifts and elevations and providing supplies for isolated locations. One of the most famous is the lift of St. Baram's Monastery in Greece. In 1889, the Eiffel Tower was built with a steam-powered elevator, which was later replaced by an elevator.
